l The principle of large air separation equipment is to separate the air into oxygen, nitrogen, argon and other components by cryogenic distillation.
l First, the ambient air is compressed and pre-purified to remove water vapor and CO₂.
l Then the purified air is cooled and liquefied to cryogenic temperatures.
l The liquid air is fed into the distillation column, where the different boiling points of the components cause them to be separated.
